There’s nothing like surprise feral kittens late at night! These guys came in late on a Sunday night from a feral colony with 200+ cats.
The property owner had done some repairs to the barn where their nest was, not realizing there were kittens inside and mom was outside! Fortunately, these little guys were clever enough to survive about 12 days until the Property Owner saw them and realized what had happened. He spent the next two days trying to trap all four of them, because he didn’t want to leave one behind. He finally was successful late Sunday night. We aren’t exactly sure what the plan is yet, but for now, they are safe and starting to enjoy the room service.

So much energy, so little idea of what to do with it!

Nola showed up as a stray on someone’s property earlier this year. When they realized she was pregnant, they contacted Forgotten Felines of Huntsville (a rescue here in North Alabama), and she came to me on March 22, 2017.

Nola had her babies on April 3rd, four fat and healthy little kittens who are now 6 weeks old.

Nola and her kittens are living in my foster room for the next few months and will be here until they can be spayed/neutered, brought up to date on their vaccinations, and adopted out through Forgotten Felines of Huntsville, a local no-kill shelter for cats.

Gaia’s Kittens – Going Up

I see a little black tail on the edge of the screen – I wonder who that could be? And down she goes – and up again, right in front of the cam, considerately flashing her white bikini mark so everyone know it’s Ela.

Gaia belongs to a family, and will be going back to them once her kittens are adopted and she has been spayed. She is a lovely floofy tabby. Her kittens were born on March 14, 2017.

Kitten #1: Maa (“mah” – Estonian/Finnish) Cream, boy. Kitten #2: Meret (“meh-REH-t” – Amharic) Classic/marble tabby, boy. Kitten #3: Terre Rayée (“Tair Ray-Ee”, French) Mackerel tabby, girl. Kitten #4: Lok (Low-k (k, as in Oak), Thai) Black, boy. Kitten #5: Krajina (“cry-nah” – Slovak) Cream, girl.
Kitten #6: Aina (“eye-nah”, Hawaiian, “returned to earth”): Tux girl, stillborn. Kitten #7: Ela (“ay-la”, Cherokee) Black, girl.

They’re still skitterbugs – and sometimes they like to FLING themselves off shelves and assume that they’ll make the landing just fine.

Gaia’s Kittens – Late Afternoon 5-27

John got Gaia her “celebratory scratcher” for having survived her last heat cycle. Apparently the kittens are getting old enough to be catnip reactive, too. Pretty funny watching him try to keep them away from it. Q&A and time laying on the floor for pets and skritches and snuggles, because he can.

Kitten Live Stream

The kittens were born 4-7-2017.
The mama cat is a very friendly stray/abandoned cat that picked our garage as her nesting spot. A week after the kittens were born Mama got sick and we have brought them into the house while she recuperates.
She had 5 kittens, 4 male and one female
Males:
Gray – Smokey
Tabby – Tiger
Orange Tabbies – Roly and Poly
Female Tortoise Shell – Harvey (Two Face)

We discovered a second feral mom cat and kittens in a cat shelter we keep on our deck on 4/22. She has become much more friendly since the kittens were born, but is still cautious around people. We brought her inside also as the kittens were getting overheated outside as the weather warmed up.

She has 4 kittens – 3 male and one female
Males
2 Tabbies – still need names
1 black tuxedo – Weasel or Cheeks
Female
Himalayan – Snowball
